Bio

I have 17 years of experience as a registered nurse on various critical care units including cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, orthopedic, intensive care unit, and general surgical care units. These types of experiences allow me to understand and manage a variety of clientele in my present profession as a health and fitness consultant. I have been a C.P.R. and First Aid Instructor for 2 years and have certified thousands of people. I have had the opportunity of certifying doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, E.M.T.’s, fitness professionals and lay persons.

My experience includes working under the direction of physiotherapists in the category of rehabilitation for “back-to-work” conditioning programs,” functional conditioning unit” and “work simulation”. I
continue to work with a number of physiotherapists, chiropractors and physicians in co-managing patients for pre and post rehabilitation.

In 1992, I started my own health and fitness consultant business, Partners in Fitness. Presently the consulting business exists under the name of Partners In Fitness & Weight Management. The expansion includes a women’s only circuit facility, internationally researched and locally branded weight management program supported by our local medical community along with personal wellness coaching. I have the ability to prescribe exercise to anyone in the categories of “low-fit”, to “medically challenged”, to “athletes”.

In the past sixteen years, I have traveled across North America attending many International Fitness and Wellness Conferences therefore presenting this information at many local workshops and conferences. I was chosen for a two-year term to be the IDEA (International Association for Health and Fitness Professionals) representative for Saskatchewan and Canada.

Many media organizations have obtained my expertise for writing articles and producing fitness videos such as Chatelaine Canada, Western Living, Local newspapers, local video and television production companies.

Over the years as a business owner I have been honored with several awards and recognitions such as finalist for “International Personal Trainer of the Year” award, nomination of “Women of Distinction” in 2003 and 2008, and Woman Entrepreneur of Saskatchewan Inc, “Existing Business Award”.
